Craig, who gained international fame through his portrayal of James Bond, explained, 'When I was offered the role, there wasn't a script yet. I thought I couldn't accept without seeing the script. Back then, I was making good money from the films I was already doing, but I felt I had to prove myself to the world. Looking back, I think I would have been happier if I had just continued doing the films I was doing then. Being James Bond is tough. Each film takes two years off your life, and you're away from home for six months. During that time, I also worked on other films. My desire to prove myself drained me, so I stopped being James Bond.'
