Cardi B celebrated her 30th birthday in glamorous fashion on Tuesday night with a cabaret-themed celebration in Los Angeles.
The hugely successful female rapper and hip-hop star, originally from the Bronx, New York, wore an extravagant bejewelled red corset and a matching feathered headdress to the party at Poppy nightclub and cocktail bar in LA, California.
The celebration was titled by the musician as “Cardi’s Dirty Thirty Cabaret,” with a host of famous guests attending the soiree.
The stars in attendance included the likes of Chance the Rapper, YG and Karreuche Tran. Cardi B was accompanied by her husband Offset, of the hip-hop group Migos, who wore a fresh white suit, trimmed with a red-tie and red-tinted sunglasses to compliment his wife’s dress.
Numerous videos of the party circulated on social media yesterday evening. One video published on Instagram saw Cardi B standing on stage next to an extravagantly tall birthday cake while everyone in attendance sang her happy birthday.
Other footage captured the cabaret-styled dancers that were front and centre at the party, which Cardi B retweeted on her Twitter account.
Gifts and Awards
The star’s twitter has been lit up all week as the rich and famous of the hip-hop and music world wished the rapper a happy birthday, with Apple Music announcing a special section in honour of her 30th.
Apart from her burlesque party, Cardi B also received other great gifts this week, namely a couple of platinum plaques in celebration of her musical achievements.
The Recording Industry Association of America awarded Cardi B with two historic plaques this week, after her best-selling hits from her ‘Invasion of Privacy’ album, released in April 2018.
The awards honoured her now certified-platinum best-selling singles ‘Bodak Yellow’ and ‘I Like It.’ Both those songs went platinum 11 times over and rank as the highest selling singles from a female hip-hop artist of all time.
‘Invasion of Privacy’ remains the mother of two’s only album, though she has released many, many singles and featured on multiple artists’ songs, bringing her own unique style and attitude to proceedings.
This year, the Bronx artist has released the singles ‘No Love Extended,’ and ‘Hot Shit.’ The latter song also features rep stars Kanye West and Lil Durk and rose to 13th place int eh Us Billboard 200 charts.
The music video is an expensive production that has 19 million view on YouTube since its premiere in July, which shows how popular the artist remains.
