'When you're a 1.90m tall and plus-sized individual in Shanghai, blending into the crowd is simply off the table. Being this conspicuous comes with its own set of challenges; the unending stares, the puzzled glances, the surreptitious photos, and the overwhelming curiosity. On some days, taking up so much space just as I am makes me feel incredibly empowered. On the other hand, being so 'perceived' can be a bit exhausting at times, but I absolutely adore the moments when I manage to break down the barriers and establish that warm connection with 'aunties' from all over the world.'
