Artist Transforms Long Leg Scar into Stunning Mechanical Tattoo Design

Scars left by surgery or accidents can remain a source of discomfort in everyday life, even years later. People may keep asking how the injury happened, or the scar may simply stay in view, bringing the painful experience back to mind time and again. That’s why tattoos have become an increasingly popular way to cover these marks and give them a new meaning.

A tattoo artist shared a custom design created for someone with long, deep scars on their leg. Drawn digitally to follow the leg’s contours and the texture of the scars, the mechanical pattern was printed on paper and transferred onto the skin as a stencil. After hours of work, the scar stretching from one side of the leg to the other became part of a tattoo that makes shock absorbers and gears look as though they’re emerging from beneath the skin. The transformation left viewers in awe.
