X experienced four outages on Monday, March 10.

According to Downdetector.com, the first outage on the X platform occurred at 6:30 AM New York local time. By 9:30 AM, 40,000 users reported access issues with X. This access problem was experienced in all countries. While X intermittently returned to normal and posts were made, X went down four times in total. Finally, X was partially accessible around 8:30 PM in Turkey, but by 9:00 PM, it crashed again. While waiting for a statement from X owner Elon Musk on the issue, Musk made a post on the X platform, which had been restored at 8:30 PM, to clarify the situation.

Elon Musk pointed to Ukraine as the source of the attacks on X. In a post on X, Musk stated that they were under a major cyberattack.

Elon Musk pointed to Ukraine as the source of the attacks on X. In a post on X, Musk stated that they were under a major cyberattack.

'There was a major cyberattack on X (it's still ongoing). We are attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. It's likely a large, coordinated group and/or a country.'

Pointing to a coordinated group and/or a country, Elon Musk gave an interview to Fox Business Network after the cyberattack was resolved. Musk stated that the cyberattack originated from Ukraine. 'A large-scale cyberattack was carried out with IP addresses from Ukraine to crash the X system.'

There had been tension between Musk and Ukraine in recent days. Musk had said, 'If I turn off Starlink, Ukraine's frontline will collapse.' The response came from Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski: 'If Starlink, for which we paid $50 million, is unreliable, we will look for other providers.' Musk, irritated by this response, replied, 'Shut up, little man! You're only paying a small part of the cost.'
