Real or AI Quiz: Is It Possible to Tell the Difference?

AI-generated images often feature intense colors, which can make them seem unreal. However, poisonous frogs with their vibrant hues can make it hard to tell if an image is real, as vivid subjects can be misleading.

Historical photos have unique traits due to the technology of their time, like fading, sepia tones, and specific photography styles. AI-generated images may not replicate these features accurately.

However, a quick online search reveals the truth: the AI-generated image has inaccurate mountain heights and building sizes.

Both images show great detail, from scale textures to tiny hairs on the faces. However, you'll notice that AI struggles to capture the pangolin’s eyes and expression realistically. Also, check if proportions, like the size of the face and limbs, look natural. This approach sharpens observational skills and deepens understanding of animal biology.

Although the AI-generated image mimics an aged artifact, it still struggles with the people. Zoom in, and you’ll see the hands are missing, and the arms end abruptly. Even with wear and tear, the hands and digits would likely remain, though faded. A quick look at the hieroglyphs also reveals they’re not real Egyptian symbols.

In this case, the AI-generated version is noticeable by examining the people and the signs they're holding. The women’s faces and hair are blurred, and the letters and symbols on the signs are jumbled and nonsensical, making them less crisp than in the real version.
