The first day of university life marks an unforgettable turning point filled with excitement, anxiety, and uncertainties for every student. While students in Turkey typically try to quietly find their way to lecture halls, this inaugural day is experienced on a completely different scale in various parts of the world.

Is it fun or is it pointless?
In numerous universities abroad, particularly in the United States, Canada, and Northern European countries, an Orientation Week or colloquially known as 'Frosh Week' is organized to expedite the students' adaptation process to the school. The chaotic yet equally entertaining atmosphere created by youngsters in red, green, and blue overalls, keeping the beat with megaphones in their hands, is in fact a reflection of a deeply-rooted community culture.
Each university has its own unique anthems, dances, colors, and traditions. These high-energy greetings allow new students to internalize this culture not by passively reading from a brochure, but by directly experiencing and feeling it.
