Two Shows That Skipped a Week Return to the Top: Turkey's November 7 Saturday TV Ratings
The results of Turkey's Saturday, November 7 TV ratings are in, and the balance shifted within a single week. Güller ve Günahlar and Başkalarının Hayatı, which did not air new episodes the previous Saturday, reclaimed the top spots on their return. Last week's leader, Gönül Dağı, lost first place in all three lists: TOTAL, AB and ABC1.
Güller ve Günahlar more than doubled its TOTAL rating in a week, scoring 6.13 to take first place.
Kanal D's drama Güller ve Günahlar was the most-watched show of Saturday night, ranking first in TOTAL with 6.13. It also led ABC1 with 4.74.
The picture was very different a week earlier. No new episode of Güller ve Günahlar aired on October 31; Kanal D showed a rerun in the same slot instead and made no statement about the decision.
With that rerun, the series scored 2.76 in TOTAL (6th place) and 2.19 in ABC1 (8th place). Back with a new episode, its TOTAL rating more than doubled and its ABC1 figure rose by 2.55 points. In AB, it came 3rd with 3.15, leaving the top spot in that list to a rival.
Başkalarının Hayatı topped the AB list with 3.59.
The surprise of the night was Star TV's Başkalarının Hayatı. Starring Mehmet Aslantuğ and Eylül Lize Kandemir, the series took first place in AB with 3.59.
It ranked 3rd in TOTAL with 3.86 and 4th in ABC1 with 3.82.
Başkalarının Hayatı had also skipped a new episode on October 31, and the channel did not make an official statement. That night's rerun scored 1.65 in AB, in 8th place. With the new episode, the series more than doubled its AB rating and moved ahead of Güller ve Günahlar in the main target audience.
The show, which premiered this season, had also ranked first in both AB and ABC1 on October 17.
Gönül Dağı, last week's leader in all three lists, slipped to 7th in AB.
On October 31, when its rivals aired reruns, TRT 1's long-running series Gönül Dağı topped all three lists with 4.55 in TOTAL, 3.30 in AB and 4.16 in ABC1.
On November 7, with both rivals back, the table changed. Gönül Dağı dropped to 2nd in TOTAL with 4.48 and to 3rd in ABC1 with 3.85.
The sharpest fall came in AB, where it slipped to 2.81 and 7th place. Its TOTAL loss was only 0.07 points: the show largely held on to its audience but fell in the rankings as its rivals rose.
