Tomb Raider Series Gets Official Approval: Script Handed to Fleabag Creator
In recent times, we've been experiencing a surge in TV and film adaptations of popular video games, much to the delight of fans. Among the latest in this trend is Amazon's much-anticipated Tomb Raider series, which has finally received official approval. The script will be penned by none other than Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator of Fleabag.

Following the tremendous success of its Fallout adaptation, Amazon has set its sights on other game adaptations. Fallout quickly became the second most-watched series on the platform, right after The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. It also revitalized interest in the longstanding game series.

The news of Amazon's Tomb Raider series has been circulating for some time, but now it’s officially confirmed. The series will be produced by Crystal Dynamics, the developer of the Tomb Raider games, in collaboration with Amazon.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge Takes the Helm
Phoebe Waller-Bridge, beloved for her work on Fleabag, will not only write the series but also serve as an executive producer. In her statement, Waller-Bridge expressed her deep connection to the character Lara Croft and her long-standing fandom of the series. She conveyed her excitement and enthusiasm for diving into the project.
Uncertain Casting and Release Date
As of now, it remains unclear who will play Lara Croft and when the series will premiere. Given that filming has yet to begin, fans will have a considerable wait before seeing Amazon's Tomb Raider series come to fruition.
In addition to the live-action series, Netflix has announced an animated Tomb Raider series slated for release this year, adding more excitement for fans of the iconic franchise.
