Following the warnings from the Meteorology Department, the Istanbul Governorship, and AKOM, heavy rainfall began affecting Istanbul from the early morning hours. It is expected that daytime temperatures will noticeably drop to 19-22 degrees, and with the impact of the strong north-northeast wind, the weather is anticipated to feel much colder. It is predicted that the rain masses entering from the Black Sea will be accompanied by thunder and lightning throughout the day at intervals.
Hava Forum, a popular weather account, emphasized that a first in 21 years has occurred in Istanbul. They shared a message stating, 'The coolest and most refreshing July day in the last 21 years.'

According to data from the Disaster Affairs Department of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (AKOM), the rainfall is expected to last for 1218 hours.
Across the city, it is anticipated that between 10 to 30 kilograms of rain will fall per square meter. However, this figure is set to double in regions bordering the Black Sea coast. The districts listed below are considered to be at high risk for flooding and inundation:
