Nintendo recently released a trailer for their new and upcoming game Splatoon 3. The company also revealed that the title would release in just less than five months. Splatoon 3 will be arriving on Switch on September 9. Along with the announcement of the game’s release date, Nintendo also put out a four-minute trailer to showcase Splatoon 3’s gameplay.
Splatoon 3 – Release Date Revealed - Nintendo Switch
Most of the trailer features the game’s TurfWar gameplay, Splatoon’s more popular game modes. It puts two opposing teams in an arena and tasks them to cover the arena with as much ink as possible. The team that covers more when their timer is up will get the victory.
Nintendo was able to keep the classic Splatoon game style that we all loved, just like their statement on a press release said, “Splatoon 3’s online 4v4 Turf War battles can create heated matches across a mix of new and returning stages, where teams of four face off to cover the most ground in their ink”.
Of course a new game also means new content and Nintendo is sure to deliver.
“Newly uncovered footage provides insight on one of these new stages, Eeltail Alley, along with a look at the stringer – a new bow-shaped weapon type that enables you to sling ink sideways and vertically.”
Besides the release of the new game, Nintendo also brought good news to Splatoon 2 players. Along with the confirmation of Splatoon 3’s release date, it was also announced that Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers can play the Splatoon 2 DLC, Octo Expansion, on the Switch at no additional cost.
