In April 2020, various sources revealed that an action show led by Chris Pratt was developing and searching for a reliable distributor.

Prime Video acquired the series a month later with Amazon Studios as part of the production team. The Terminal List launched its first season on the streamer in July 2022 with eight episodes.

The series managed 7.9/10 stars on IMDb, a 94% average audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 40% on TV Guide.

On Thursday, February 2nd, 2023, Prime Video renewed the series for season two alongside a prequel, which is yet to be titled, as revealed by the series’ main Twitter account.
