With this record, Steam managed to push the number of concurrent users above 36 million for the first time, breaking the old record of 35,385,530. The new record, set last Sunday, saw the number of concurrent users reach 36,354,393.

Surpassing the 36 million mark, the most played game on Steam on record day was Counter-Strike 2 with 1.4 million players. Valve's ageless brand was followed by Dota 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds and Apex Legends, while the surprise hit of the year, Helldivers 2, also contributed to the number.
