‘The Adam Project’ is an upcoming American science fiction film directed by Shawn Levy and written by Jonathan Tropper, T.S. Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett, and Mark Levin.
In the movie, time-traveling fighter pilot Adam Reed hooks up with his 12-year-old self for a quest to preserve the future after accidentally crash-landing in 2022.

Adam Reed, 13, is still grieving his father's death a year ago when he wanders into his garage one night and discovers an injured pilot sheltering there.
This enigmatic pilot turns out to be an older version of himself from a time when time travel was yet in its infancy. He has put everything on the line to return in time for a secret mission.
Together, they must travel back in time to find their father, right the wrongs, and rescue the planet.
Working together, the three Adams, both young and old, come to grips with their father's death and have an opportunity to repair the wounds that have molded them.
Adding to the mission's difficulty, the two Adams learn they don't get along very well, and if they're going to save the world, they'll have to figure out how to get along first.

T.S. wrote a spec script for the project. Nowlin was first revealed in October 2012 as Our Name Is Adam. Tom Cruise was attached to star in the project, which was picked up by Paramount Pictures.
In July 2020, the picture was resurrected when it was acquired by Netflix, with Shawn Levy directing and Ryan Reynolds starring. Jonathan Tropper wrote the most recent iteration of the script, which was based on previous drafts by Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett, and Mark Levin. Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener, Alex Mallari Jr., and Walker Scobell joined Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener, Alex Mallari Jr., and Walker Scobell to the cast in November.
In November 2020, filming began in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and was completed in March 2021.
