Neslihan Yeldan, Who Said "I Was Hurt" After Being Cut From Kızılcık Şerbeti, Returns as Sevtap
Neslihan Yeldan, who plays Sevtap, the mother of Nilay in Kızılcık Şerbeti, announced on Instagram that she is returning to the series. The actress shared a video reading 'Sevtap is back,' confirming that the character whose story was ended before the fifth season is coming back. The news follows Ceren Karakoç's return as Nursema and marks the series' second major comeback since its change of screenwriters.

Neslihan Yeldan, who plays Nilay's colorful mother Sevtap in Kızılcık Şerbeti, shared the news of her return on her Instagram account.
The actress posted a video with the words 'Sevtap is back' and added this note: 'We had an unfinished dance and an unsettled score. Sevtap, the character I loved playing so much and whom they let me name, is back with her joy, her love, her passions and her leopard print. Well, welcome back, my flower.'
The name Sevtap came from Neslihan Yeldan herself
The most striking detail of the note was about the character's name. According to Neslihan Yeldan, it was not the production team but the actress herself who named Sevtap.
That detail also explains why she is so attached to the character. When Sevtap's story ended, she had said goodbye with these words: 'Goodbye Sevtap... You were so sweet, completely crazy. You were something else. You were a colorful rainbow.'
Written out before season five, Neslihan Yeldan had not hidden her disappointment, saying "I was hurt and I got angry."
Before the fifth season of Kızılcık Şerbeti, the cast went through a major shake-up. When Feyza Civelek, who played Nilay, left the series, Sevtap's road closed too, and the character was removed from the story.
At the time, Neslihan Yeldan hinted on Instagram that leaving was not her choice, writing: 'Being forced to part from something you love is strange.' Later, on a program she appeared on, she spoke openly: 'I was hurt and I got angry. Because I did nothing wrong for the character to suddenly disappear.'
Now that 'unsettled score' is being reopened. How Sevtap will return to the story and in which episode she will appear has not been announced yet.
Nursema's return brought the season's best ratings
After the change of screenwriters, the farewells in Kızılcık Şerbeti are being reversed one by one. The first big comeback came from Ceren Karakoç, who had been dropped from the cast at the start of the season.
Episode 145, aired on Friday, November 6, in which Nursema, believed to be dead, was reunited with her family, scored 6.80 in Total, 6.88 in AB and 7.25 in ABC1, the series' highest Total and ABC1 ratings of the fifth season. The series had last reached that level in Total on May 8.
