A forthcoming South Korean television program called 'Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area' will be based on the Spanish heist criminal drama series of the same name. The series was created by Ryu Yong Jae and directed by Kim Hong Sun. It shows a hostage situation that takes place on the Korean Peninsula and involves a brilliant strategist and others with various personalities and skills. It is set in the same fictional universe as the original series.

‘Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area’ , both a remake and spin-off or continuation of the Spanish TV drama, follows the storyline and characters of the original series.

'The Professor', a criminal mastermind, plans to pull off a heist in the Korean Peninsula inspired by those in Spain. The operation involves strategists and desperados with different characteristics and abilities who have to face unusual situations.

‘Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area’ Release Date and More Info…

It was revealed in June 2020 that BH Entertainment and Zium Content will be co-producing a remake of Money Heist. On December 1, it was announced that Netflix has confirmed a Korean version of the series, with Kim Hong-sun serving as director and Ryu Yong-Jae serving as a scriptwriter. They were in discussions with Netflix, which was in the production stage.

The series would have 12 episodes, with BH Entertainment handling production. On Friday, June 24, 2022, Netflix will debut the series 'Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area.'
