According to data received from the General Directorate of Meteorology (GDM), snowfall is anticipated in seven cities. The announcement emphasized that blizzards and disruptions in transportation are expected in areas where snowfall will occur. So, which cities are going to be blanketed by snow? The Ministry of Interior's official X account shared a weather warning on Friday, May 1st. According to the latest information from the General Directorate of Meteorology, particularly in some parts of the Central Black Sea and Eastern Anatolia regions, it is anticipated that weather conditions will abruptly intensify.
It was stated that starting from the evening hours, the temperatures in the provinces of Kastamonu, Sinop, Çorum, Amasya, Tokat, Samsun, and Ordu will rapidly drop. It was also mentioned that in these seven cities, precipitation in the high-altitude areas above 1100-1200 meters will turn into a mix of rain and snow, eventually becoming snow.
The Meteorology department has emphasized that the snowfall could potentially transition into a blizzard.
A weather warning has also been issued for Tunceli by the Meteorology Department. It is anticipated that thunderstorms across Tunceli will intensify locally into the late hours of the night.
Authorities have cautioned residents against risks such as flash floods, water inundation, lightning strikes, and hailstorms. In higher regions where snowfall is expected to be significant, it is of utmost importance for drivers and local inhabitants to take precautions against potential blizzards and disruptions in transportation.
