The outage negatively impacted the core systems of American airlines such as American Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Allegiant, and Sun Country, as well as airlines in India like THY, IndiGo, and others.

Using a sensor and unified threat interface called Falcon Identity Threat Protection, it provides attack correlation across endpoints, workloads, and identities, and stops identity-focused breaches in real-time. This error is said to have occurred due to a malfunction in CrowdStrike's Falcon Sensor conflicting with the Windows system. CrowdStrike acknowledged this error and stated that their engineers are working intensively to resolve the issue. The expected announcement came from the company's CEO, George Kurtz.
George Kurtz stated on X, "The issue has been identified, isolated, and a fix has been implemented.
