'Love Like the Falling Petals,' New Netflix Japanese Film Premieres in March 2022

‘Love Like the Falling Petals’ is a tale of love that encapsulates the transience and beauty of cherry blossoms based on a bestselling novel of the same name in Japan by Keisuke Uyama from Shueisha. 

The story revolves around an amateur photographer who asks out his hairdresser on a date and immediately strikes up a relationship. There’s a twist, however, as she is aging fast.

Mark your calendar because Netflix has announced the ‘Love Like the Falling Petals’ release date on March 24th.

Netflix has dropped a teaser trailer as well for the film and it shows the pretty cherry blossom trees in their full bloom is a treat for aesthetes. The dreamy romantic scenes with the cool background score keep us engaged as we witness the couple gradually fall in love.

The film is a love story that captures the transience and beauty of cherry blossoms, based on a bestselling novel of the same name by Shueisha's Keisuke Uyama, and produced by Kei Haruna, who is known for top romance films such as Crying Out Love in the Center of the World and Be With You, as well as My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday, and Let Me Eat Your Pancreas.

Haruto, a wannabe photographer, is head over heels in love with Misaki, his hairstylist. When he eventually summons the nerve to ask Misaki out, the young couple appears to be living happily ever after... Until Misaki contracts a rare condition that causes her to age swiftly in front of their eyes.

‘Love Like the Falling Petals’ top cast includes Honoka Matsumoto as Misaki, and Kento Nakajima as Harutoo.

The writers responsible for the film are Keisuke Uyama (novel) and Tomoko Yoshida. The film is directed by Yoshihiro Fukagawa and produced by Kei Haruna.
