'Kissing Scene' Confession from Songül Öden, Who Starred Alongside Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ in Gümüş

This series, which concluded 19 years ago, has recently re-entered the spotlight following a revelation by Songül Öden.
The TV series "Gümüş", starring Songül Öden and Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ, left a significant mark on the period it was broadcasted.
'Gümüş', a TV series that aired between 2005 and 2007, tells the story of a humble village girl named Gümüş, who marries Mehmet Şadoğlu, a wealthy man from Istanbul whom she has loved since childhood. The show, which marked Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ's rise to stardom after winning the Best Model title, was also broadcast in the Arab world under the name 'Noor' and set a record by drawing approximately 85 million viewers to the screen for its finale.
However, what brought 'Gümüş' back into the spotlight after 19 years was not its international success, but a confession from Songül Öden. During her appearance on Armağan Çağlayan's show 'Gör Beni', Songül Öden confessed, 'So, I was coming home very late. My mother was worried about my life... I had very curly, long hair and people were smoking around here at that time. My mother believed I had started smoking and fallen into a bad crowd. She was burdening me with comments like, 'She started university and now she's gone astray, we've lost her.' I'm laughing about it now, but those were very sad years for me. Eventually, she got used to it. I deceived her by saying, 'I'm going to be a news presenter on TRT.' You know, more sensible, always wearing suits, predictable comings and goings... My mother was rushed to the hospital several times due to the kissing scenes in Gümüş. It was very tough for me, thinking 'How can this be?' But then, as I always say, my mother eventually adapted to the European Union standards. For instance, when a false news story about us comes out, my mother now defends me, asking, 'Why do you believe these things?' She's now defending me and my profession... We've reached that point. She's very happy and proud now. I can understand her fears...'
