However, Paramount Global announced that it will cease broadcasting of MTV Music, MTV 80's, MTV 90's, Club MTV, and MTV Live channels after December 31.

An unexpected development occurred regarding MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, Club MTV, and MTV Live channels, which have been broadcasting uninterruptedly for 44 years. Paramount Global announced that the broadcasting life of MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, Club MTV, and MTV Live channels will end on December 31, 2025.

MTV channels will first cease broadcasting in the UK and Ireland. Later, the channels will close in France, Germany, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Australia, and Brazil. While the spokesperson for Paramount, MTV's parent company, declined to comment on the matter, it was learned that the decision was taken as part of Paramount Global's aggressive cost-cutting measures, which merged with Skydance Media this year.
