It Gets Better! HBO’s ‘A Black Lady Sketch Show’ Returns for Season 3

Yass! The third season of A Black Lady Sketch Show drops today on HBO, and it is hot! Created by Robin Thede, the series features comedy sketches performed by an ensemble cast of Black ladies, including Thede, Skye Townsend, Gabrielle Dennis, and Ashley Nicole Black.

Touching on culturally relevant topics such as dating, sex, religion, anxiety and relationships, each episode of the series includes sketches and features guest stars such as Kelly Rowland, Raven Symoné, Angela Bassett, and Tia Mowry, David Alan Grier, and Laverne Cox. As you’d expect, this season promises its fair share of amazing guest stars, including Ava Duvernay, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Symoné Grier, Wanda Sykes, Vanessa Williams, Michael Early, Cari Champion, Holly Robinson Peete, Kel Mitchell, Jemele Hill, Wayne Brady, Bob The Drag Queen, Kayla Pratt, Tahj Mowry, Loni Love, Lance Reddick, Jay Pharaoh, Trevoh Jackson, Tommy Davidson, Jidenna, Daphne Reid, Shangela, Essence Atkins.

With new streaming every Friday, tonight's episode is titled 'Save My Edges, I'm a Donor!'. Next Friday, April 15 will see the premiere of episode 2, 'Anybody Have Something I can Flog Myself With?'. Episode 3, 'Y’all Want Some Blood Juice?' will air on April 22, followed by episode 4, 'Bounce Them Coochies, Y’all!'- April 29, episode 5, 'Peaches and Eggplants for Errbody!”-May 6 and finally episode 6, “It’s a New Day, Africa America!”- May 13.

The first two seasons have been extremely popular, with the audience scoring a perfect 100% on the Rotten Tomato meter. Let's wait to see how the third season fairs. But with its unexpected comic sketches and a pool of guest stars, we have nothing but high hopes for the show's third season.
