Disney+ Plans to Launch More Korean Content, Including Korean Drama Originals

Disney+ drops exciting news about its 2022 slate of upcoming Korean content, including Korean originals. The streaming company shared that it would release over 20 Korean titles this year, including at least 12 originals. 

Last week, Disney shared three of its upcoming Korean shows and a new licensed one. They include Bigmouth, Crazy Love, Soundtrack#1 and The Zone: Survival Mission.

Big Mouth (Release date yet to be disclosed)

It follows an upcoming attorney who is forced to take on a murder case in an attempt to up his scale. But he ends up getting mixed up in a complex conspiracy that puts his career at risk. Big Mouth stars Lee Jong-suk and Lim Yoon-a and is written by Haram, working with creators Jang Young-chul and Jung Kyung-soon. The series is directed by Oh Choong-hwan.

Crazy Love (Released on March 7)

Mathematical wiz CEO Noh Go-Jin starts to receive death threats from an unknown individual. He devises a plan to track down the perpetrator. He eventually finds solace in an introverted hard-working secretary Lee Shin-a who is suffering from a life-threatening condition and plans to seek revenge for the company's poor treatment plan. The rom-com stars Kim Jae Uck and Krystal Jung and is written by Kim Bo-kyum.

Soundtrack#1 (To be released on March 23)

A struggling songwriter asks her best friend to help her compose her next song as they stay together for two weeks. They discover that there’s a thin line bordering between romance and friendship. Soundtrack#1 is directed by Kim Hee-won and stars Han Sohee and Park Hyungsik.

The Zone: Survival Mission (No release date yet)

The Zone: Survival Mission is a fun and adventurous show that showcases three celebrities, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo and Yuri, thrown in different themed rooms and virtual spaces and forced to overcome challenges to emerge the winner. The show is produced by Cho Hyo Jin, who also worked on Running Man, Family Outing and X-Man.
