Cem Özkök Left City Life Behind: The Reason He Chose Village Life Drew Attention!
Those who follow Cem Özkök on social media are well aware of one thing - his passion for cleanliness. Known affectionately by millions as 'Foşur Foşur Reis', this popular figure has won over a wide audience with his years of content on cleanliness, order, and lifestyle. However, Cem Özkök has recently been making headlines not just for his cleaning videos, but for a significant change he's made in his life. Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Istanbul, Özkök has moved to a country house in Yalova, and for the first time, he has openly shared the emotional reasons behind this decision. The renowned influencer describes his new life as a journey of 'healing', 'purification', and 'returning to one's roots'.
Elevating the standard of cleaning content in Turkey to an entirely new level, Cem Özkök, known to millions by his nickname "Foşur Foşur," has emerged as one of the most notable social media sensations in recent years.
Özkök, who has amassed a large fan base with her videos meticulously cleaning homes, bathrooms, and kitchens, not only captivates her followers with cleaning tips, but also with content on organized living, healthy eating, and motivation. In addition to the unique world she has created on social media, the influential figure has taken significant strides in entrepreneurship by establishing her own brands. Now, she is making headlines with a surprising decision she has recently made.
Cem Özkök, a long-time resident of Istanbul, recently revealed that he has taken a break from city life and relocated to a village house in the Termal district of Yalova.
Furthermore, it turned out that this decision was not the result of long-term planning, but an entirely spontaneous process. Özkök, who had previously visited the area during bike tours and was captivated by its nature, decided to start his new life by renting a house within just a few days during his weekend getaway to Termal.
The social media sensation explained that he didn't see this relocation decision as merely an escape from the city. Describing it as a 'return to self' story in his social media posts, Cem Özkök expressed his desire to somewhat loosen his extreme meticulousness habit that he had been struggling with for years. Despite his fear of insects and reservations about living in close contact with nature, Özkök stated that he wanted to confront these fears head-on, viewing the rural life as a transformational process for himself.
Waking up to the sound of birds, collecting eggs from under the chickens, touching the soil, and leading a calmer life were what the social media star yearned for, and he began frequently sharing snippets of his rural life with his followers. However, he hasn't completely severed his ties with Istanbul. Özkök, citing his businesses, brands, and enterprises, maintained that he hasn't closed his city home and will continue to commute between Yalova and Istanbul.
Of course, as one would expect from someone nicknamed 'Foşur Foşur', one of the first things he did upon moving into the country house was to renovate it from top to bottom. The country house, which bears no resemblance to its original state, was virtually recreated with Cem Özkök's meticulous touch.
Cem Özkök shared the transformation process of his village house through this video:
'Perhaps, who knows, this was a blessing in disguise for me to heal and purify myself. A place where I could overcome my meticulousness, conquer my fear of bugs, grow closer to God, and engage in profound contemplation...
I'm sharing everything in real-time with you through my stories, down to the smallest detail. The details are so exquisite... I hope I can convey them to you as deeply as I feel them. May it bring healing to both the viewer and myself.
For instance, I can't begin to express the gratitude I feel when retrieving an egg from under a hen... Or the experience of praying accompanied by the chant of birds, being awakened by the crow of a rooster... As I discover more, I will continue to share everything.
Of course, it's not easy. For someone born and raised in the city, there's a lot to get used to. I still have a long way to go. I have a career centered in Istanbul.
Initially, I thought this place would merely serve as an occasional escape. However, it seems to be turning out quite the opposite... Now, it feels like this is my main base. Istanbul, on the other hand, feels like a place I visit occasionally. Because once you've heard true silence, the city's noise feels somewhat alien. You can hear yourself more clearly.
May God grant everyone the beautiful blessings they desire in the most wonderful way and at the most opportune time. May everything be easy and blessed, God willing.
May God protect you all.'
