Recently, Beril Pozam has been making headlines not for her acting or her marriage, but rather for a statement she made.

On the show she was attending, the actress shared her story of coming across the Surah of Inshirah while explaining the spiritual transformation she underwent.

She narrated that during a period of intense work schedule and emotional strain, she heard that her co-star Emre Altuğ was reciting the Surah of Inshirah every morning. Sparked by curiosity, she looked up the meaning of the Surah and was profoundly moved and deeply touched by its message upon her first reading.

'We were having a conversation one day while on the set of 'Yalı Çapkını'. Emre Altuğ said, 'I recite the Surah of Inshirah every morning'. I had never heard of the Surah of Inshirah before. I said, 'Let me check it out'. I immediately looked it up online and read it, and I was truly struck to the core. At that time, I was in desperate need of inner peace and relief. So, I started reciting the Surah of Inshirah myself.

Subsequently, I began listening to religious talks and following people whom I knew and trusted. After a while, I asked myself, 'Why am I understanding religion through other people's perceptions? I should at least try to read and understand it through my own perception'. After all, God has written it for all of us. The Quran was not written for certain people to interpret it for us. So, I started reading. The more I read, the deeper and more impactful it became. In my opinion, it's the best book ever written.'
