Having been watched by 421,793 people in its first month of screening in Turkey, Backrooms managed to become one of the most sought-after productions at the box office in 2026. The film, which made it into the top 10 films with the highest audience numbers of the year, also ranks within the top 7 in the list of foreign films. Moreover, the film, exceeding expectations worldwide, has been making waves and holds the title of the highest-grossing production in A24's history.
Backrooms is set to reappear on the big screen, this time with an extended version lasting 16 minutes longer.
Emerging from the internet culture and swiftly transforming into a global phenomenon, Backrooms is now preparing to reconnect with its audience through a new version specifically tailored for the big screen. This special cut, set to release under the title 'Backrooms: Everything Must Go Version', expands the story with fresh scenes.
The extended version of Backrooms hits the theaters on Friday, July 3rd.
