Calvin's words, in which she openly discussed for the first time the trauma she experienced after her mother's death, her terrifying days in America, and the legacy left behind, have caused a major stir on social media. In particular, her statement that 'there's enough inheritance to support five people' made a significant impact on the entertainment news, while her emotional words about her mother deeply touched everyone.
Ahu Tuğba, an unforgettable star of Yeşilçam, has etched herself into our memories not only through her acting prowess, but also with her beauty, rebellious attitude, and the significant impact she made in the world of entertainment.
Ahu Tuğba, particularly known for her roles in the films of the 80s and 90s, was one of the most prominent female stars of her time. Not only her professional life, but also her personal life and her bond with her daughter Anjelik Calvin frequently made headlines. The affection between mother and daughter was one of the most talked-about relationships in the world of entertainment for years, with Anjelik Calvin's admiration for her mother shining through in every interview.
The news of Ahu Tuğba's death on September 1, 2024, in her home in Miami, USA, plunged her fans into mourning. The veteran actress's demise, due to complications from COPD and hypertension-related heart issues, was a topic of discussion for days. The inability to bring her remains back to Turkey due to official procedures in the US had a devastating psychological impact on Anjelik Calvin. Eventually, Ahu Tuğba was brought back to Turkey and laid to rest in the Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
Spotted in Istanbul after months, Anjelik Calvin opened up in detail for the first time about the trauma she experienced following the loss of her mother.
In response to journalists' remarks that he is 'a carbon copy of his mother,' Calvin emotionally responded, 'I'm not. I can't even amount to a speck of my mother's worth,' once again expressing his profound admiration for her.
Calvin, who lived in the house in the US where his mother passed away, explained how this experience deeply affected him. He described his trauma as follows: 'I went through a severe psychological trauma in the house in America. I stayed in a hotel throughout the process; my father spent well over $20,000 just on hotel expenses. During that period, my house was overrun with rats. I wondered, 'Could the house be cursed?' but it turned out they had infested the entire building. The bed where my mother died was right in front of me. In the shock of the moment, I had kept everything, including the blood-stained pillow my mother died on. It was a significant trauma.'
Anjelik Calvin also stated that this wasn't the only shock he experienced. Revealing that many of his mother's belongings had been stolen, Calvin moved everyone with his words, 'Unfortunately, I couldn't preserve my mother's memories, they've stolen everything in the chaos at home. Even if nothing remains from my mother, her pink nightgown and slippers are enough for me.'
The issue of inheritance, which has been a matter of public curiosity for a long time, also came up during the interview. Speaking about the fortune left by Ahu Tuğba, Calvin said, 'My mother left an inheritance sufficient for five people. I can't give an exact figure, it would be a sin. But I saw my mother's lifeless body; believe me, money and wealth have no value. I wish my mother were alive, and we had nothing. Everyone should know the value of their mother,' touching everyone's hearts.
