Agricultural Breakthrough: Scientists Successfully Grow Vegetables in Icy Antarctica

Within the scope of the project, a closed space ecosystem was simulated using a 20-meter special transportation container.

Scientists, highlighting that Antarctica's isolated structure, freezing conditions, and the necessity of special clothing to go outside make it resemble a space station on the Moon or Mars, emphasize that this test area was deliberately chosen. The ultimate goal of this closed system technology, which operates independently from the external environment's air, is to lay the foundation for sustainable food production in future colony lives on space planets.
