In relationships, many gestures that men perceive as grand romantic acts often have the exact opposite effect in the world of women. Such domineering actions are seen as evidence of a deep-seated lack of self-confidence and an obsession with control, cleverly hidden behind a facade of protectiveness, which rapidly steers the relationship towards disaster.
