‘Dreamer’ Plot Summary
The Crane family's horse barn in Lexington, Kentucky, has been empty for years due to the family's financial woes. Palmer, the owner, chooses to put Sonya, a.k.a. Soador (Dreamer in English), down when she fractures a foreleg in a race.
Ben Crane accepts the injured horse instead of Palmer's three-month salary to save her life. Cale, his daughter, develops an emotional bond with Sonya, and while the horse is being cured, the Crane family's wounds heal as well.
Soador is given one more try at racing in the hopes of preventing the family's home from going into foreclosure.
