The Municipality of Taşköprü in Kastamonu has brought the ancient city of Pompeiopolis back to life using artificial intelligence. The AI-generated film, created for the 200-year-old city, depicts daily life. The film also conveys, through the use of AI, how the ruined and damaged ancient city was resurrected following extensive restoration efforts.
"We aspire to introduce this place as an ancient city to the country and the world."
Mayor of Taşköprü, Hüseyin Arslan, revealed another project in the pipeline. 'We are planning to shoot a short film in the next two months, once again utilizing artificial intelligence. It will be a ten-minute film, which we believe will have a significant impact. We intend to distribute it to the international press. The aim is to promote cultural tourism in our district, Kastamonu, and the region at large. That's our ultimate goal. We've signed a protocol with our North Anatolian Development Agency, who will oversee the refurbishment of our presentation center at the entrance, providing technical support. We're aiming for the center to gain a museum-like quality. Our objective is to swiftly open this place to tourism and have it officially recognized as an archaeological site. We want to showcase to the nation and the world that this is an ancient city,' he said.
