After a narcotics raid was conducted on the set located at the Beykoz Shoe Factory, legal proceedings were initiated against the leading actor, Erdem Kaynarca. Yesterday afternoon, narcotics teams arrived at the set erected at the Beykoz Shoe Factory. It was learned that the raid, which was conducted due to a report of illegal substances, happened while the lead actor Erdem Kaynarca was preparing for his scene in his caravan. The actor was first removed from the caravan by the police teams, followed by a search in his vehicle. Subsequently, it was reported that Erdem Kaynarca was taken to the Narcotics Branch in Halkalı. Hair and blood samples were taken from the actor, whose statement was taken there. It was learned that Erdem Kaynarca was released late in the evening after the procedures were completed.
The developments were not limited to just the legal process. The production company of the series 'Sea of Fire' also made its own assessment regarding the incident. Changes were made to the shooting schedule following the events on the set. It was learned that a week's break was given for the shooting of the series. During this period, it was stated that the production team held meetings to determine a new roadmap.
The awaited statement came from Hakan Yıldız, the General Coordinator of Sepya Film Production Ltd. Co.
The announcement revealed that a parting of ways has occurred with Erdem Kaynarca.
In a statement made by Hakan Yıldız, the following remarks were given:
'Our company has thoroughly examined the legal process regarding the 'Substance Abuse' allegations that have been made public about 'Erdem Kaynarca', one of the actors in our ongoing project named 'Sea of Fire'. We have been very meticulous about the issue of 'Substance Abuse' from the very first day of our casting decisions. The contract of the individual who has wasted the efforts of our company and, more importantly, our colleagues who have dedicatedly worked for our project, has been unilaterally terminated by our company for just cause. Our project will continue as planned with the participation of a new actor. We respectfully announce this to the public.'
With this statement, Erdem Kaynarca's role in the Sea of Fire project has ended. It has been learned that the production company has started negotiations for a new lead actor. It was stated that efforts are underway for the project to continue according to the planned schedule. However, it was expressed that all the scenes featuring the actor would need to be reshot. Therefore, there is talk that a significant portion of the shootings completed so far will not be usable.
In industry circles, it has started to be discussed that the cost arising after Erdem Kaynarca's departure has reached millions of liras. It is reported that the production team has entered an intense work period due to the need to prepare the scenes again.
