Embarking on a solo journey is a unique and enriching experience, and for those seeking the best destinations for solo travel in Europe, Wizz Air has compiled a list based on TripAdvisor reviews labeled as 'solo travelers' in 2023. The budget airline conducted the study by calculating the percentage of five-star reviews for each city, ensuring representation from only the highest-rated city in each country. 1- Rhodes, Greece
According to the Wizz Air study, the Greek city of Rhodes tops the list with 76% of solo traveler user reviews rated five stars. Among these, tourist attractions in the city received the majority of five-star reviews at 79%, while restaurants in the city scored excellent ratings from 73% of reviewers.
2- Split, Croatia
In the second spot, Split in Croatia earned 73% of solo travel reviews with a five-star rating. According to the report, tourist spots in Croatia received the highest number of five-star reviews at 81%, followed by restaurant reviews at 66%.
3- Istanbul, Turkey
Neck and neck with Split, Istanbul, Turkey, also holds a 67% overall five-star rating from solo traveler reviews. Restaurants performed exceptionally well, with 71% receiving excellent ratings.
4- Florence, Italy
Making it to the top 4, Florence in Italy observed 66% of solo traveler reviews at the five-star level. The tourist attractions gathered the majority of five-star reviews at 71%, while restaurants received a 61% five-star rating.
5- Seville, Spain
Seville secures the fifth spot with 62% of its reviews rated an average of five stars, making it a destination worth considering.
6- Valletta, Malta
Overall, 60% of Valletta's solo travel-related reviews are five-star rated. Truly a place that deserves a chance.
7- Riga, Latvia
The capital of Latvia, Riga, holds the 7th position on our list with a general rating of 58%. The distribution between tourist attractions and restaurants has a liking rate of 60% and 56%, respectively.
8- Bucharest, Romania
Ranked as the eighth-best city for solo travelers, Bucharest has an overall rating of 55%, with tourist spots receiving 56% five-star ratings and restaurants 54%.
9- Lucerne, Switzerland
Here, 59% of solo travelers left five-star reviews. The distribution between tourist attractions and restaurants is 66% and 51%, respectively.
10- Prague, Czech Republic
Prague secures the tenth spot on the list. The overall five-star percentage is 54%, with tourist attractions and restaurants almost evenly matched at 53% and 54%, respectively.
