Star-Studded Performances Steal the Spotlight at Serdar Ortaç Tribute Night
Although the Serdar Ortaç night, planned to be held as part of the highly popular Saygı1 project by BaBaLa TV, was cancelled, the music festival took place with a different concept. The event, named 'Istanbul Festival: Serdar Ortaç Night', was held at Festival Park Yenikapı, where famous figures performed the hits of Serdar Ortaç that have left their mark over the years. Performances by artists ranging from Kibariye to Melis Fis, and Ekin Uzunlar to Mustafa Mert Koç, made a significant impact on the night, and the footage shared from the concert quickly became a hot topic on social media.
One of the most prolific lyricists and composers of Turkish pop music, Serdar Ortaç, has left his mark on dozens of unforgettable songs throughout a career spanning over 35 years.
Ortaç, renowned for numerous hits such as 'Karabiberim', 'Padişah', 'Dansöz', 'Bilsem Ki', 'Sor', 'Heyecan', 'Ben Adam Olmam', and many more that have dominated the music charts for years, was announced to be the next guest on the widely popular series Saygı1 by BaBaLa TV. The project, which had been organized for different artists in the past and had been viewed millions of times, was announced as a special night where the songs of Serdar Ortaç would be reinterpreted by the new generation of artists, creating a wave of excitement among music lovers.
However, as preparations for the event were underway, Saygı1: Serdar Ortaç night was cancelled due to the onset of a legal process involving Oğuzhan Uğur, the founder of BaBaLa TV. Although many people assumed that the concert was completely cancelled following this development, Serdar Ortaç addressed his fans via a statement on his social media account.
The famous singer reassured everyone that they would keep their promise for the concert, inviting everyone to the 'Istanbul Festival: Serdar Ortaç Special Night' to be held at Festival Park Yenikapı on August 4. Thus, even though the concept changed, the spirit of the night was preserved. While the repertoire and the lineup of artists prepared for the tribute night were largely maintained, thousands of music lovers filled Yenikapı to listen to Serdar Ortaç's hits live.
The concert kicked off with Serdar Ortaç, performing his timeless hit "Heyecan". Subsequently, the stage was handed over to a series of famous personalities one after the other.
Ekin Uzunlar performed the song "Ben Adam Olmam" with his unique Black Sea tunes.
