Oğuzhan Uğur Breaks Silence on His Earthquake-Era Social Media Posts
Following the investigation into the AHBAP Association, one of the figures who drew attention was Oğuzhan Uğur, who brought his posts from the period of the February 6th earthquakes back into the spotlight. Uğur, stating that they worked in coordination with government agencies during the earthquake process, made a striking statement by saying that some images circulating on social media for years did not reflect the truth.
Following the earthquakes on February 6th, the investigation into the AHBAP Association sparked widespread public reaction. In response to this, Oğuzhan Uğur addressed some allegations circulating on social media.
During the earthquake period, Uğur reminded of the ongoing coordination by re-sharing his genuine posts and also reacted to the fake images circulating about him.
Oğuzhan Uğur first brought his post dated February 8, 2023 back to the agenda. In this post, he stated that from the first day of the earthquake, they acted together with the Communication Presidency, AFAD, police chiefs, deputy governors, AHBAP and other state institutions, saying, 'We have not made any decisions on our own. We are carrying on.'
In addition to this, Uğur reminded that in the early hours of the earthquake, he shared AFAD's province-based communication numbers on his social media account, trying to ensure that citizens request help through official channels. During the same process, he re-published screenshots showing that he supported the coordination by sharing emergency aid calls that reached him on social media.
Finally, Oğuzhan Uğur, emphasizing that he never used the phrase "There's no state, only AHBAP," which is frequently circulated on social media, made the following statement:
'Regrettably, fake images are circulating on social media platforms, as if I had written 'there is no state, only cronies'. Even though they have been proven to be fake time and again, they are unfortunately still being persistently shared. Now, the images I am sharing are not photoshopped, they are not fake, they are real. They are still there in their original place. You can go back and check. Please do not give credit to the images saying 'there is no state', which I have never written.'
