NASA has shared photographs of the major solar eruption. Meanwhile, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has announced that Earth is about to be engulfed by the largest solar storm in the last 19 years. A series of solar flares could hit Earth in the coming hours and days, potentially causing disruptions in communication, navigation, and electrical systems.
NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center has also mentioned that auroras, also known as polar lights, can be seen even in southern regions such as Northern California and Alabama.
