Man Suffers Heart Attack in Dubai and Returns to Life Thanks to Advanced CPR Device First Aid
Every day brings a new advancement in the field of health technology. No longer confined to the large machines in hospitals, health tech has now made its way into our pockets. Thanks to robotic systems, surgeons can perform highly precise operations by making incisions of just a few millimeters in the patient's body.
A device that performed a cardiac massage on a patient who suffered a heart attack in Dubai recently made headlines on social media. The device successfully managed to revive the patient.
You can watch it from here;
What exactly is the device performing chest compressions in the video?

The device in the image is called LUCAS (Lund University Cardiac Assist System), an automatic chest compression device. It is used to perform cardiac massage on a patient in case of cardiac arrest. But why is it preferred?
Uninterrupted Massage: Humans can get tired, or the rhythm/depth of the massage may change over time. However, this device can continuously maintain the massage at a steady depth (approximately 5-6 cm) and at a rate of about 100-120 times per minute, in line with medical standards.
Ease of Transport: Performing manual cardiac massage while transporting a patient to an ambulance or down the stairs can be extremely challenging. This device, however, allows for the continuation of the massage even while in motion.
Support for the Medical Team: Since the device takes over the task of massage, healthcare teams can focus more on other critical interventions such as opening a vein, administering medication, or providing respiratory support to the patient.
