Life-Saving Choice: How to Choose the Best Swimsuit Color for Kids' Safety
With the arrival of summer, the pool and beach season has officially begun. Although the selection of swimsuits for parents and swimming enthusiasts is generally based on style and comfort, there is a crucial safety detail that often goes unnoticed. The colors of swimsuit fabrics transform completely due to the refraction of light and the nature of water as soon as they are submerged. While some colors shine like reflectors in the water, some popular shades become invisible within seconds, posing a significant risk.
Two swimming coaches tested the visibility of swimsuits of different colors in water. They systematically tested the visibility of different fabric tones under water. The video enlightened many parents about the risk of children disappearing from sight within seconds in the pool.

According to the test results, the most crucial rule to consider when choosing a swimsuit is to opt for neon and bright tones that will create a contrast with the color of the water.
During underwater tests, fabrics in shades of light green, neon green, and classic blue become completely invisible as soon as they are submerged and agitated in water. The blue tiles at the bottom of the pool and the natural composition of the water camouflage these colors, making it impossible to spot them in the event of a potential drowning. In contrast, vivid pink, bright orange, and clear red hues can be distinctly seen even when the water is rippling. Particularly for children, setting aside fashion considerations and opting for colors that stand out in water, such as orange or neon pink, simplifies the task for lifeguards and families to keep track of them at all times. Therefore, it is essential to refer to this color chart before going swimsuit shopping.
