Kösem Stars Beren Saat and Ekin Koç Reunite After 10 Years in a New Film
Beren Saat and Ekin Koç, who played Kösem Sultan and Sultan Ahmed in Magnificent Century: Kösem, are set to work together again roughly 10 years later. According to Turkish entertainment journalist Birsen Altuntaş, the pair will appear in Tüm Yorgun Atlar (All the Tired Horses), an independent film directed by Burak Çevik.
The on-screen couple of Magnificent Century: Kösem are heading back to the same set.
Beren Saat and Ekin Koç starred together in the first season of Magnificent Century: Kösem. Beren Saat played Kösem Sultan, while Ekin Koç played her husband, Sultan Ahmed.
Their chemistry was widely noticed by viewers at the time. Now, about a decade later, the two actors will share a project for the first time since the series.
The film brings together a grieving theatre actress and a man who survives by stealing.
The story centres on two characters. The first is Aslı, a theatre actress who has lost her husband. The second is Galip, who lives on the shores of Istanbul and gets by through theft and by slipping into other people's lives.
Tüm Yorgun Atlar links the stories of these two lonely people and revolves around themes of death and free will.
Director Burak Çevik has repeatedly represented Turkey at the Berlin Film Festival.
Burak Çevik is known as one of the filmmakers who has represented Turkey at the Berlin International Film Festival in consecutive editions. The film is produced by İpek Erden.
No dates have yet been announced for the start of filming or for the release.
