The veteran actor, who portrayed characters that refused to bow to injustice in dozens of productions such as 'The Girl with the Red Scarf', 'Tatar Ramazan', 'The Revenge of the Snakes', 'Muleteers', 'Derman', and many more, continued to reach wider audiences in the following years with TV series like 'Marziye' and 'Broken Mirror'. Throughout his career, he held a unique place in the art world with his stance of not remaining silent on social issues and his unwavering principles.

In recent years, Kadir Inanir, who has been away from the screens due to consecutive health problems, underwent long-term intensive care treatment after suffering from a cerebral vascular disease in 2024 and embarked on a challenging physical therapy process. The news of his recovery, which gave hope to his fans, was followed by a significant deterioration in his health, causing great sorrow.

On May 13, 2026, the master artist was hospitalized due to respiratory distress and pneumonia caused by advanced lung cancer and was admitted to intensive care the following day. During his treatment, his respiratory insufficiency worsened, and acute kidney failure developed over time. According to the official announcement from the hospital, Kadir Inanir passed away at 18:05 on June 26, 2026.

Following the announcement of the sad news, numerous figures from the art world shared condolence messages one after another, while millions of people on social media bid farewell by sharing scenes and unforgettable lines from the master actor's films.

Following the passing of Kadir İnanır, one of the most widely shared clips on social media turned out to be an interview from years ago when he was a guest on Şirin Payzın's show on CNN Türk.

During the program, Şirin Payzın asked, 'Aren't you afraid? Aren't you apprehensive about being so heavily criticized and battered?' Inanır's response to this question has resurfaced today, almost like a last will and testament.

'If I'm truly about to leave this world, should I spend the rest of my life as a timid, cowardly man who doesn't dare to get involved in anything? No... Quite the opposite, they will say 'Well done, Kadir Abi' behind me. That's how I will die.'

These words were spoken during a time when Inanır was heavily criticized due to his stance on societal issues. The veteran actor expressed that he would never abandon his principles throughout his life and wanted to be remembered for his courage.
