The esteemed artist, who had won the respect of millions not only through his acting but also his unwavering stance on social issues and refusal to compromise his principles, had been battling health issues for some time.
On May 13, Inanir was hospitalized due to respiratory distress and pneumonia caused by advanced lung cancer. Following intensive care treatment, he passed away at the age of 77 on June 26, 2026, due to multiple organ failure. The tragic news plunged the art world and his fans into deep mourning.
Following the demise of Kadir İnanır, one of the most burning questions that emerged was whether the esteemed actor had left behind a will or not.
Levent İnanır, nephew of the late actor, put an end to the speculations in his response to the press outside the hospital. In his statement to Kaan Kurdoğlu from the 2nd Page, he clarified that their last conversation was just before his uncle was intubated and that his uncle had not left any written or verbal will.
'Our last meeting was just before the intubation process. His condition was good, but he fought hard. He knew, he was worn out. His organs were tired; he was tired, his heart was tired. He had no special requests, no will. We will do our best to give Kadir İnanır the farewell he deserves. We will bid him farewell in a manner befitting him.'
With this statement from Levent İnanır, it became clear that the rumors of a 'special will' that had been circulating for days had no official basis.
According to a report by Onur Bayram from Haberler.com, claims were made after the death of Kadir İnanır that he had left his estate to his longtime life partner Jülide Kural or various institutions.
However, so far, no will has been announced by official authorities. Therefore, the inheritance of the master artist will be evaluated according to the legal inheritance provisions of the Turkish Civil Code. The exact distribution of the inheritance will be clarified during the legal process following the preparation of the certificate of inheritance.
On the other hand, the real estate, bank accounts, and copyright royalties from his films that Kadir İnanır acquired during his career spanning over half a century are also included in the estate to be evaluated.
There was a last-minute change in the memorial ceremony for Kadir İnanır, which was previously announced to be held at the Atatürk Cultural Center.
According to the updated program, the first ceremony for the master artist will be held at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage at 13:00 on Sunday, June 28. His funeral will then be taken to the Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque and after the afternoon prayer, the funeral prayer will be performed and he will be buried in the Ulus Cemetery. After the burial procedures are completed, the family will accept condolences at the Akatlar Cultural Center.
