Impacts of Air Pollution on the Human Body
Air pollution, the arch-nemesis of city dwellers... The escalating vehicle traffic, the destruction of green spaces, and the increasing concretization are all invitations to toxic air. While it's well-known that air pollution leads to various diseases, Meteorological Engineer Hüseyin Öztel shared some insights on his X account. Öztel penned down the impacts of polluted air on the human body.
Air pollution leads to adverse effects on the body.

Exposure to polluted air seriously jeopardizes health. Air pollution has evolved from being merely an environmental issue to a public health problem that poses a direct threat to our well-being. The escalating industrialization, vehicle traffic, and destruction of green spaces are all contributing to the pollution of our air. But are you aware of the impacts of air pollution on the human body?
Meteorological engineer Hüseyin Öztel shed light on the impacts of air pollution on the human body.

Hüseyin Öztel shared the following on his X account:
'Poor air quality doesn't just harm our respiratory and circulatory systems, and cause damage to the brain, it also accelerates skin aging.
Particles known as PM 2.5 (and smaller ones) reduce skin elasticity.
Those who are exposed to these for extended periods can even develop eczema and chronic sensitivity.
In big cities and towns, we've forgotten what clean air feels like. The kind of air that invigorates you. The idea of 'going back to one's roots' is becoming increasingly limited. We used to notice the difference there.
We spend a significant part of the year living in polluted air.'
