Ignoring Doubters: Woman Transforms Neglected Balcony Into Stunning Cozy Living Space
Balconies are among the most valuable spaces where we can connect with the outdoors in city life. However, these areas are often left idle or used as storage due to reasons such as being 'too small' or 'unusable'. This is because we are accustomed to balconies being broken down and incorporated into the room from the past, so large balconies are not built in new homes. Yet, with the right touches, functional solutions, and a bit of effort, it's possible to transform even these tiny balconies into a cozy corner where you can shake off the fatigue of the day.
A woman who turned a deaf ear to criticisms like 'Don't bother, this balcony will never amount to anything,' shared the moments she completely renovated her small and neglected balcony. The balcony she recreated solely through her own efforts also served as an inspiration to those who saw it.

So, what steps do we need to follow to achieve this popular transformation?
The first step before starting to decorate in small and narrow spaces is always to ensure the infrastructure is clean and solid. As seen in the transformation in the video, the process begins with sanding down the rusted railings and painting them black. A folding glass balcony system is installed to make the balcony usable in all four seasons. After thoroughly cleaning and wiping the glass surfaces, the focus shifts to floor and wall applications that will add warmth to the space. Interlocking wooden tiles, which practically snap together, are chosen for the floor, and the edges are covered with details of artificial grass carpet, completely covering the area.
For wall decoration, the very popular artificial leafy ivy nets of recent times are used, along with warm yellow fairy lights intertwined among the ivies. These lighted ivy surfaces, secured with small nails hammered into the wall, instantly give the space a cozy and dim atmosphere. In the furniture selection, a foldable wooden table and chair set is chosen to avoid cramping the space, while soft puff cushions, green plants such as cacti and succulents, decorative candles, and star-shaped neon lights placed on them complete the decoration. At the end of all these stages, that narrow and rusty space, initially dismissed as 'good for nothing', transforms into a peaceful and very stylish living corner where you can turn on the lights in the evening and enjoy a cup of coffee. Especially in city life, a pleasant outdoor space where you can spend time after work can truly be a lifesaver.
