This situation has sparked curiosity among his fans.
Recently, Somerhalder discussed why he stepped away from the television industry in an interview with People.
The well-known actor stated,
'I’m incredibly happy off-camera. After V-Wars, I produced documentaries like Kiss The Ground: Regenerative Agriculture and Common Ground. I partnered with a pet food company to create higher-quality food. I’ve been involved in numerous soil and water conservation efforts. My experience on Lost had a significant impact on this work. The show inspired my passion for environmental protection. However, leaving my family to go shoot a series for two months in a distant location or moving them around is not something that suits me.'
