Heartbreaking Detail Emerges Following Kadir İnanır's Passing
The passing of Kadir İnanır, a legendary figure of Turkish cinema, at the age of 77 has plunged the whole of Turkey into mourning. However, a detail that emerged after the esteemed artist's death has intensified the sorrow. It was revealed that İnanır's beloved sister, Altun Arıca, had passed away just three days prior to him. The back-to-back losses within the same family have deeply shaken their loved ones and admirers.
Altun Arıca, the elder sister of Kadir İnanır, peacefully passed away at the age of 95 on June 23, 2026.
Due to health issues related to old age, the death of Arıca, who had been receiving treatment in the Fatsa district of Ordu for some time, plunged the family into deep sorrow.
Following the funeral ceremony held at the Hz. Hamza Mosque in Fatsa on June 24, Altun Arıca was laid to rest in the Asri Cemetery. The most notable absence at her funeral, however, was her brother Kadir İnanır.
The reason being that the esteemed actor was in Istanbul at the time, battling for his life in intensive care due to advanced lung cancer and being on a ventilator. Unable to attend his sister's funeral due to the severity of his health condition, İnanır tragically shared the same fate just three days later.
Among those who bore the brunt of the losses were Levent İnanır and Soner Arıca.
Levent İnanır, son of Altun Arıca, and Soner Arıca, were first struck by the loss of their mother. Still reeling from this shock, they were dealt a second blow just three days later with the news of the death of their uncle, Kadir İnanır.
The beloved figure in the art world, Levent İnanır, suffered the loss of both his mother and his uncle, who he had looked up to since childhood, in a short span of time, deeply affecting his loved ones as well.
Singer Soner Arıca, another well-known member of the family, was already in deep mourning following the death of his mother, Altun Arıca. The death of Kadir İnanır added to the grief of the Arıca and İnanır families.
Soner Arıca's post following his mother's death was heart-wrenching. The famous artist bid farewell to Kadir İnanır with these words: 'I never thought I would add your picture here for this reason; I'm in a whirlwind of emotions, facing great sorrows in a short period of time, I'm very upset...' His words were particularly poignant as he was still grieving the loss of his mother when, just three days later, he was shaken by the news of his uncle Kadir İnanır's death. His post was truly heartrending.
