Manifest, a girl group formed through the BIG5 Turkey competition broadcasted on YouTube by Hypers New Media at the beginning of 2025, quickly managed to become one of the most talked-about girl bands in Turkey.
The group, consisting of Esin Bahat, Hilal Yelekçi, Lidya Pınar, Mina Solak, Sueda Uluca, and Zeynep Oktay, captured attention with their dance performances, stage shows, and music style infused with Kpop influences.
Manifest, since their first song, has garnered considerable attention, particularly from young listeners. In a short span of time, they started giving concerts, performing at festivals, and amassing a broad fan base on social media. The group's success occasionally led to comparisons with the legendary girl band of the 2000s, Hepsi.
Gülçin Ergül, a former member of the Hepsi band, was more than just a judge in the BIG5 Turkey project; she was also one of the mentors who played an active role in the contestants' development process.
Throughout the auditions, Ergül evaluated the candidates' vocal, dance, and stage performances, playing a significant role in determining the finalists. She expressed that after her traffic accident, supporting young musicians was of great importance to her. Furthermore, she opposed the frequent 'Hepsi or Manifest?' comparisons made on social media, arguing that the two groups should not be portrayed as rivals.
Recently, a new claim has surfaced on social media. An Instagram account named @birkahvebingiybet shared a screenshot, alleging that Gülçin Ergül liked a comment under one of her TikTok videos.
The shared image features a comment made by a user:
'Gulcin put a lot of effort into Manifest, she supported them even at their first concert when the girls were overly excited, but they never showed any gratitude, they don't even mention her name.'
