GTA 6 Leaker, Allegedly Under Investigation by the FBI

If you’ve heard (or read) about the recent fiasco involving Rockstar Games and the huge leak of Grand Theft Auto 6, then you might be wondering what happened to the leaker. Well, it turns out that the alleged leaker (or hacker) is now under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Not too long ago, there was a massive leak of gameplay footage taken from the anticipated Rockstar game Grand Theft Auto 6. As expected, the topic quickly became trending on social media sites and within the gaming community, especially on Twitter and Reddit.

The gaming community was intrigued by the leak, and many gamers were understandably skeptical about the authenticity of the videos. The leak included a showcase of the alleged visuals of GTA 6, which involves the user interface and graphical improvements of GTA 6, and totals almost an hour of gameplay footage.

Unfortunately, Rockstar Games weren’t as happy as the fans with the leak. The studio publisher confirmed that the leak was real and that they were “devastated” by it—and understandably so.

The person who was allegedly behind the GTA 6 leak was also tagged as the one responsible for a recent Cyberattack on Uber, an American mobility service provider. The said company mentioned in its official blog post that it is now closely coordinating with the authorities.

'There are also reports over the weekend that this same actor breached video game maker Rockstar Games. We are in close coordination with the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice on this matter and will continue to support their efforts.'

Fortunately for fans, the publisher says that it “[does] not anticipate any disruption to our live game services nor any long-term effects on the development of our ongoing projects.”

Of course, this also doesn’t mean that the game will come out any sooner. Although, the publisher did promise that it would release more information about GTA 6 soon. But how soon? We can only wait.
