So, how many SIM cards are needed for one gram of gold?

Standard SIM cards feature a very thin layer of gold plating on their chips. According to average data, there is approximately 0.001 to 0.002 grams of gold in a single SIM card. Consequently, to obtain 1 gram of pure gold, you would need to recycle somewhere between 500 and 1,000 SIM cards.

Is the Gold Bar in the Video Realistic?

The gold bar we see in the video weighs in at about 310 grams. To produce a gold bar of this weight, you would need approximately 150,000 to 300,000 SIM cards. Therefore, it doesn't technically seem feasible to produce a gold bar of this size from a handful or a bucket full of SIM cards, as shown at the beginning of the video.
