Following her release, her posts on social media showcasing her luxurious lifestyle sparked intense debates, leading to another development that drew public ire. A suspect, taken into custody in the investigation of an armed assassination in which her bodyguard lost his life, stated in his police testimony that he had identified the locations of his targets from Dilan Polat's social media stories and posts before planning the attack. This became one of the details that changed the course of the case.
In the wake of this claim, there were assessments that social media posts posed a risk in terms of public safety, and the process was brought to the agenda of official institutions.
Following these developments, the Ministry of Family and Social Services applied to the court requesting an access ban on Dilan Polat's social media accounts.
The Ankara Magistrate's Criminal Court, which evaluated the application, issued an access ban on the grounds that the posts could pose a risk in terms of public order, general morality, and family structure. As a result of the implementation of the decision, Meta blocked access to her main Instagram account, which has approximately 6.3 million followers, from Turkey.
The process did not stop there. The backup accounts that Dilan Polat opened later were also individually deactivated under the same decision. Consequently, her Instagram network, which she had been actively using for many years, was largely blocked.
After her accounts were closed, Polat continued her social media posts through the accounts of her husband, Engin Polat, and her close circle for a while, and she was unable to share content from her own account.
After months of silence, Dilan Polat has made a comeback to Instagram, this time under the username "dilanpolatkankalar".
The account, which has gained significant attention in a short period of time, has amassed over 800,000 followers, making a noticeable impact. Polat continues to share snippets from his daily life, posts with his family, videos where he chats with his followers, and various advertising content on his new account.
It's evident that the internet sensation has managed to transfer a significant portion of his former follower base to his new account. Moreover, the rapid growth rate of the account is a frequently discussed topic on social media.
