According to The Hollywood Reporter, Radcliffe stated, 'I was 9 years old when I first met Maggie Smith. I worked with her for the first time on stage in David Copperfield. My family was a fan of hers, but I didn’t know much about her. All I knew was that she held the title of 'Dame,' and when I asked her if she wanted me to address her that way, she replied, 'Don't be ridiculous.''

'I was nervous when I first met her, but she was such a kind person. I feel very lucky to have worked with her for another 10 years in the Harry Potter films.
